There is an Astrolift specially designed for a covered pick-up bed. The “outer base” of the Astrolift is bolted through the floor at the rear of the bed to the frame of the pick-up. The “inner base’ is hinged to the “outer base” and is designed to lie flat when the bed cover is in the closed position. Once the lid is opened it is designed to fold up and locks into the vertical position so the telescope can be elevated out of the bed of the pick-up for video or conventional astrophotography. The Astroslide assembly consists of two linear bearings that glide effortlessly on 1.5 inch stainless steel shafts. The Astrolift equipped with the Astroslide, allows you to slide your Schmidt Cassegrain mounted telescope from its docked position within the cargo bay of your SUV or pickup, to a comfortable viewing elevation outside of the vehicle within seconds.

The new Tele Vue-102 is a 4-inch, 2-element f/8.6 APO air-spaced doublet, similar in size and appearance to the 4-element f/5.4 Tele Vue-101. The Tele Vue-102 achieves similar diffraction limited, high power viewing as it's 4" sibling, along with a wide 3 degree maximum visual field (compared to 4.9 degrees for the Tele Vue NP-101). |
